Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As an official for the Space and Defense Department she covers all aspects of space from NASA to the recently formed Space Force as well as commercial space businesses and space tourism. Kristin was born into the space sector as the grandchild and daughter of NASA astronauts. In the past five years she's been covering space policy under the Biden and Trump administrations in FOX News. During that time, she also covered presidential impeachment proceedings and the 2020 presidential election and efforts by two administrations in order to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. She traveled extensively with both the president and vice-president also included an exclusive trip to Afghanistan, which she took along with Donald Trump. Kristin has worked in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade before becoming a part of the CBS network. Kristin was the recipient of an Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as the CBS station's reporter who was a one-man band. Kristin's expertise as a camerawoman has led her to create Field Mouse Films which specialized making documentary-style videos for corporate clients including Uber Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University. She is married to her husband and their two children in Washington, D.C., and has a three-year old daughter.
